Older Queer Voices is both an archive and a living movement.
We exist to celebrate, capture, and amplify the lives and experiences of older Queer people, while creating dialogue that leads to cultural understanding and policy change.
Our work spans globally, with a strong focus on the UK. Through podcasts, videos, storytelling, writing, round tables, panel discussions, workshops, and keynotes delivered by the founders, we centre lived experience as expertise.
We document stories of those who have actively fought for our collective Queer cause, ensuring their contributions are remembered, recognised, and shared.
Older Queer Voices brings together voices across generations. Through intergenerational dialogue, we create opportunities to pass on knowledge, wisdom, and resilience to younger Queer communities, building connection, understanding, and continuity.
We explore the realities of later-life queerness, including coming out at different stages, visibility, health, care, housing, chosen family, isolation, resilience, and joy. These stories are shared to inform, connect, and influence how older Queer lives are understood and supported.
Dialogue is at the heart of everything we do. We bring together individuals, communities, organisations, and allies to listen, reflect, question, and imagine better futures. These conversations extend beyond the platform, feeding into wider debates on inclusion, equality, and the absence of older Queer people in policy, research, and decision-making.
Older Queer Voices is a space for celebration and challenge, memory and momentum. Whether people come to find representation, contribute their voice, learn from lived experience, or engage in change-making work, this is a platform where older Queer lives are visible, valued, and taken seriously.
Older Queer Voices is affiliated with the OUTspoken Speakers CIC and works in collaboration with corporate and community partners to amplify voices, influence thinking, and help shape lasting change.
